Career Opportunities

Career Placement

The real estate field offers a broad and varied range of employment opportunities for the qualified person. As a profession, real estate is dynamic, challenging, and potentially remunerative. Among the types of careers available in the real estate profession are: investment counseling; mortgage underwriting; appraisal; market analysis; commercial, industrial and residential brokerage; property management; urban and regional planning; and corporate site and locational analysis. The real estate program prepares students for entry into all these areas in the real estate field.

Students are encouraged to have a resume on file with the Center. When companies are searching for interns or full-time employees, they reach out to the Center for assistance. The Center maintains and distributes PDF books consisting of student resumes to real estate firms across Connecticut, New England, and the United States. Having a copy of your current resume on file in our resume books will help ensure your qualifications and skills get noticed. Note: resumes will only be accepted from students who have declared real estate as their major or minor.

Potential employers are encouraged to contact the Center for Real Estate with their job opportunities and/or to request copies of the resume books. Please reach out to Kathryn O’Leary at 860-486-3227 or email kathryn.oleary@uconn.edu with any questions.
